The Gassies-Gautey vineyards are family work several generations of wine growers (3rd), pioneers among so much of others of this soil of Between-Deux-Mers which the world reputation is recognized. The whole of the vineyard is spread out over left bank of the Dordogne, distributed in zone of slopes argilo-limestones and plates of comparable nature, and contiguous with the river of a plain on the siliceous ground with melts of them the low register seams of the Dordogne which are prolonged in the basement. One understands his place in Classement with this red Bordeaux Château du Masson cuvée Passion 2006 (80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet franc, 5% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 5% Malbec), with prevailing of prune, a very tasty wine, of beautiful steady, loose robe stops some thanks to silky tannins, with nuances of black cherry and humus, of very good evolution. Beautiful 2005, which associates color and structure, with this complex of currant and humus, quite fullbodied nose, combining roundness and structure finally. 2004 is tasted very well today, developing suppleness and complexity of aromas, a quite well-balanced wine, very successful. Excellent red Bordeaux Château du Masson 2006, with the nose prevailed by the black small fruits (blackcurrant), a wine of soil as we like them, full and rich, fleshy in mouth, of very beautiful robe of a deep garnet, very pleasant. Rosy Bordeaux Fleur du Mayne 2008 (the 2009 follow), of beautiful a pink frank, a wine of fresh and tasty mouth, all into fruity, dry and suave at the same time, one of best of the appellation. |
